Gambling Movie: A Movie Review for "The Good Thief"
If you are searching for a gambling movie with a classic touch, then, you need to watch this stylish film.
The Good Thief was based on Jean Pierre Melville's old film, "Bob Le Flambeur." Sounds French? Of course it is.
The movie centers around a rockstar, Bob Montagnet Gifted with a voice that is real cool. As Bob claims, he's a son of a GI soldier. Well, who knows?
Bob is a gambling addict, who likes to bet up to the last francs. In the film, Bob is the most charming loser ever. The funny thing is Bob knows it.
For the last time, Bob will go for the two last heists of his life, a fake and a real one. After learning about the precious and priceless art collection of Monte Carlo Casino, Bob started to make the plan.
Along with Bob's companions, when all experts included in a team - Raul, Paulo, and Vladimir - plan to stage the heists, the film became more exciting and suspenseful. The prized possession that they were vying for is the art piece within the halls of the casino.
But, it wasn't so easy to execute the plan effectively because of Bob's opponent, the policeman Roger, who continuously kept a watchful eye for their moves.
Sounds interesting?
Here's more: Of course, a gambler story wouldn't be complete without the partners of the movie's hero. It is your typical love-triangle-sort-of-problem as the story moves on to reveal the happenings between Bob and Remi (a club owner) when Bob attempted to rescue Anne, a young Eastern girl, from prostitution.
All right, so those are short clips on the scenes, but what next? Why would you ever want to watch this film, anyway? Here's why:
* Its fast paced action is really thrilling and very exciting. Perfect for those who love being at the edge of their seats with hardcore action highlighting the film.
* It is technically a beautiful movie. The sound effects, camera shoots, appealing scenery, and adequate lighting effects make it look like a real-life gambling movie that anyone can relate to.
* The actors and actresses contributed to its presentation.
